As a traditional family business, we are well aware of the importance of conserving the environment and thus preserving the location factors of our production sites. Düren has long been a hub of the paper industry. One reason for this is the top-quality water, sufficient amounts of which are required for production. In order to maintain this high water quality on the long run, purity regulations were passed to protect the clean water of the river Rur.
In the spirit of this tradition, we have also considered the environment when designing our quality assurance system. This includes the use of environmentally friendly dyes and inks as well as avoiding and separating waste as much as possible. Modern machines use less electricity and our well-trained staff members monitor environmental sustainability. We would like to contribute to protecting the environment with our company and we strive to fulfil our own quality standards day by day – because this is something we are committed to by tradition.
We are FSC®-certified (Forest Stewardship Council®)!
MAY+SPIES GMBH has been FSC®-certified (SCS-COC-001585) since June 2008.All MAYSPIES products that bear the FSC® logo are certified. The FSC® trademark is used to identify wood products from well-managed forests. Forest management is bound by strict environmental requirements of the FSC® that provide for high social and economic standards. The certified forestry businesses have undergone independent inspection and assessment to verify that their operations comply with FSC® standards. The FSC® is an international non-profit organization that provides for a cooperation of environmental organizations, social associations and innovative forestry businesses and wood processing companies, in order to improve forest management worldwide.

We fully identify with REACH
As a versatile paper processor and supplier of paper products, we are not subject to registration as a "downstream user" with regard to our products. Nevertheless, we fully identify with REACH and work closely with our suppliers to ensure compliance now and in the future.
Furthermore, we can declare compliance with all requirements of EU Directive 201/65/EU on the restriction of the use of hazardous substances (RoHS).
